Anxiety

Anxiety can take many forms and affect people in different ways. Some individuals experience persistent worry and overthinking related to generalized anxiety, while others struggle with panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, performance anxiety, or anxiety connected to relationships and attachment patterns. Anxiety may also appear through physical symptoms such as chest tightness, racing thoughts, difficulty sleeping, irritability, or feeling constantly “on edge.” Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help explore the underlying emotional conflicts, past experiences, and relational patterns that contribute to anxiety, supporting deeper and longer-lasting change rather than only symptom management.

Depression

Depression can affect every aspect of life, including mood, relationships, motivation, sleep, work performance, and self-esteem. Common symptoms of depression may include persistent sadness, emotional numbness, fatigue, overthinking, hopelessness, loss of interest in daily activities, and difficulty concentrating. Many people struggling with depression also experience anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or unresolved trauma. Through psychodynamic psychotherapy and depression counselling, individuals can begin to understand the deeper emotional patterns contributing to their distress and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Therapy for depression can help improve emotional wellbeing, self-understanding, and overall quality of life.

Obsessions & Compulsions

Obsessions and compulsions can significantly affect daily life, relationships, concentration, and emotional wellbeing. Individuals experiencing OCD and anxiety may struggle with intrusive thoughts, repetitive behaviours, excessive checking, reassurance seeking, contamination fears, rumination, or mental rituals that feel difficult to control. These obsessive-compulsive symptoms are often linked to deeper emotional stress, perfectionism, fear, guilt, or unresolved psychological conflicts. Through psychotherapy for OCD, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety, individuals can gain insight into these patterns, reduce distress, and develop healthier coping strategies. Therapy for obsessions and compulsions can help individuals feel more emotionally grounded, confident, and present in their daily lives.

Grief

Grief and loss can deeply affect emotional wellbeing, relationships, daily functioning, and mental health. Individuals experiencing grief may struggle with sadness, anxiety, emotional numbness, anger, loneliness, difficulty concentrating, or feeling unable to move forward after a loss. Grief can arise following the death of a loved one, divorce or relationship loss, illness, infertility, traumatic experiences, or major life transitions. Through grief counselling and psychotherapy for grief and loss, individuals can process painful emotions, better understand their emotional responses, and develop healthier ways of coping with change and loss. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can also help explore the deeper emotional impact of grief and support long-term healing and emotional resilience.

Trauma

Trauma can have a lasting impact on emotional wellbeing, relationships, self-esteem, and the nervous system. Individuals who have experienced trauma may struggle with anxiety, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, intrusive memories, panic attacks, difficulty trusting others, or feeling disconnected from themselves and their surroundings. Trauma can take many forms, including childhood trauma, developmental trauma, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual trauma, relationship trauma, attachment trauma, medical trauma, intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, accidents, bullying, neglect, or other distressing life experiences. Through trauma therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy, individuals can begin to understand how past experiences continue to affect their emotions, behaviours, and relationships, while developing healthier coping strategies, processing unresolved emotional pain, and rebuilding a greater sense of safety, stability, and emotional resilience.

Relationship Problems

Relationship problems can affect emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and overall mental health, often leading to anxiety, stress, sadness, anger, or feelings of disconnection. Individuals may experience recurring conflict, communication difficulties, trust issues, emotional distance, dependency patterns, or fear of abandonment in romantic, family, or interpersonal relationships. Relationship difficulties can also be linked to attachment patterns, past trauma, or unmet emotional needs from earlier life experiences. Through relationship counselling and psychodynamic psychotherapy, individuals can explore underlying emotional patterns, improve communication, understand recurring relationship dynamics, and develop healthier, more secure ways of relating to others.
